Applying the LinkedIn Help spec
- Format JPG
- Maximum file size 3 MB
- Shape 400 × 400 pixels
A LinkedIn Page logo is a 400 × 400 square. Give LinkedIn a rectangle and it crops one for you, which is how half a wordmark ends up as a company identity.
This page crops from the centre to a square and scales it to exactly 400 × 400, in this browser tab.
What this page does, and what it cannot
Applied automatically, every time:
- Saved as JPG
- Kept within 3 MB
- Cropped to 400 × 400 pixels
Your job, because a converter cannot judge it. LinkedIn Help also requires the following, and this tool has no way to tell whether your image complies:
- Check it reads on both light and dark backgrounds
Common questions
My wordmark got cut in half.
A wide logo cannot become a square without losing its ends. Use the stacked or icon-only version of your mark if you have one — that is what the square slot is for — rather than the horizontal lockup.
Should I upload a PNG instead?
LinkedIn accepts both and recommends a high-resolution JPEG. A JPEG cannot hold transparency, so if your logo needs a transparent background, convert it to PNG with the PNG tool on this site instead and upload that.
